Phew! This one took a while, didn’t it?
Oooooooh, yes. I think I started spinning this 28 ounces of Targhee on July 21.
If you remember, I actually sampled and swatched this time. And then I spun a 3-ply of lovely fluffy goodness.
I spun this as a fractal, though the colorway is almost a semi-solid, so it’s subtle. To do this, I took all my fiber and divided it up into 50-gram(ish) bumps. Then I took a third of those and split them once. The second third of bumps got split into thirds. And the third third of bumps got split twice (into fourths).
And I ended up with just about exactly what I was aiming for. 1,550 yards…about 220 yards per 100 grams, which was spot-on. The pattern I’m looking at for this is the Wood Hollow Vest, which is knit in Cascade 220, so I was hoping to get something similar, in terms of weightiness. I’m pretty sure this is gonna work out just how I like.
Hooray for Finished!
Have a Woooooonderful Woolly Weekend, Friends!
