Spun! Now We Have the Right Wool…

Border Leicester. It is quite nice.

I had no end project in mind for this 4 ounces of Border Leicester from YarnOraTale so I just stuck all my wheel’s whorls and tension and hands and everything into default mode and spun.

The Border Leicester had a nice crisp hand, but not too harsh. It reminded me more of some of the Down wools I’ve spun, instead of a longwool, but that might have been my prep.

I have a bit of raw Border Leicester fleece on hand, as well. I might (emphasis on might) dig it out and spin some samples, just to see how it compares. But…well…wool prep. Meh. I’m just not that into it. Still…I do enjoy seeing the resuts, so…maybe.

For now, this skein of aran-weight two-ply Border Leicester wants to become…what? I don’t know! Some have suggested a scarf or wrap, but it’s a little crisp even for my tough neck. I’m leaning more toward bag…or….what? Any ideas?

Happy Spinning, Friends!
