Knitting Into the Danger Zone

I am tired of the things I am knitting.

This collar on this cardigan has gotten so boring. I know I have less than 10 inches (of around 52) of collar to knit, but I don’t care. I don’t want to knit this collar anymore.

Wah!

I want to cast on something new.

NAOW!

Yesterday when I got home from work, an exciting new book was waiting on my front porch. Colours of Shetland by Kate Davies.

It’s beautifully written. Beautifully photographed. It contains 10 knitting patterns (and I want to knit them all), and it has a handful of chapters focusing on different aspects of the Shetland Isles.

It’s a bit pricey, with the shipping and exchange rate, but if you’ve been on the fence, I gotta say that it’s well worth it.

Now. Somehow I have to prevent myself from casting on a new thing from this new book. I’ve got the collar right here next to my keyboard, awaiting my workday thinky breaks.

If I can just get through with this cardigan, maybe I should allow myself to cast on a new thing. (I’m trying real hard not to look over at the giant pile of unfinished WIPs over there in the corner of my dining room.)

What do you think?

I’m excited about Colors Of Shetland as well. I just don’t know which of the lovely patterns that I want to knit first!
