She Turned Me Into a Newt!

I got better…

Heh.

How about a quick dose of handspun goodness for your Monday morning (with a side of giggles courtesy of Monty Python)?

This started off as 4 ounces of superwash Merino from Two If By Hand in the colorway Burning Witches:

I was aiming to spin it thin, but I guess all those singles kind of messed up my internal gauge, because I ended up with something a little heavier than worsted weight:

To be fair, it’s a true 3-ply, and I’m not always really good at getting those as thin as I like:

I love the difference between the original fiber and the finished yarn. Where’d all the white go? Where’d all that brown come from? This is one of the pleasure of spinning handpainted fiber.

238 yards of worsted-spun 3-ply goodness.

(Also. Look! It snowed! It snowed! Finally!)

Happy Monday, Friends!

  3. That is so awesome!! Seeing the photo of the fiber with the handspun photos…there is such a huge difference. It’s almost unbelievable, the difference! Spinning is so awesome.
