Whoopsy!

I didn’t mean to do it. I really didn’t.

It’s just that…

Well, I used the very last bit of my wool wash on Friday. The very last bit. And so I needed more. Because I had to do all the things! And the last time I was in Esther’s Place in Big Rock, they had some wool wash that was eco-friendly and lavender-scented and very very nice.

So we hopped in the car (the Little Bird being off school for the day), and drove out that way.

Only, they didn’t have any of the wool wash anymore. Their supplier stopped carrying it. (Pout.)

But I didn’t want to waste a trip. I had promised the Little Bird she could pick something out for herself, and so I decided to pick out a couple wee things for myself too.

I know, I know. Wool diet, blah blah blah. One braid per month, blah blah blah. And I already had two, and now I have four.

What can I say? I’m good at falling down. On top is 4 ounces of Wensleydale in Surfer Girl. On bottom is 4 ounces of Montadale in Maple Leaves. The Wenny is already almost spun up. So, at least it’s not languishing in the stash, right? Right?

The good news is, I finished the Tunis and Gulf Coast Native, plus 16 ounces of Wensleydale (yep, I’m a spinning machine!), already this month. So even adding in Club and the other fiber I snagged, I’m going to end up losing fiber weight in January. So, yay for that!

Also, the Little Bird?

She got turned on to needle felting. And loves it.

She loves it so much, she broke the needle. So we decided to stop off at Wool & Company on our way out for pizza Friday night to pick her up a new felting needle and…

  1. The fiber is gorgeous, and if at the end of the month you are still down in terms of fiber, I would call it a win. Besides, you wouldn’t want to have wasted the trip.

Exactly! I’d hate to spend the time and gas to drive out there and not get anything. Also, it’s virtually impossible for me not to spend money once I’ve walked into a small business. A big box store? No problem, but if the proprietor is standing at the counter…it’s a totally different story.
